Legacy Jam

MEC Crew is proud to announce Legacy Jam, a new family friendly breaking event and battle taking place October 23-25, 2026 with six purpose driven experiences at three venues in one weekend. Breaking is rooted in cyphers, community and culture, passed down generation to generation. Legacy Jam keeps that chain alive: celebrating the people who built Canadian breaking, investing in the youth wholl carry it forward with appearances from the best breakers in Canada including from BC, Quebec, New Brunswick, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, and Nova Scotia.

Legacy Jam will kick off October 23 at Collective with a free Welcome Jam with cyphers, a graffiti workshop for kids, music and good vibes. October 24 at 918 Bathurst is Battle Day with multi generational battles, and a daytime Childrens Hip Hop Zone for kids 5-11 teaching beginner moves, breaker-name and art name tag making, art stations, and a hip hop scavenger hunt. Legacy Jam will close out October 25 at Unity Charity Studio with a day of workshops and panels about why mentorship matters to breaking's next generation and how to build a career in and beyond breaking.
